Student import

As of WebUntis 2020 there will be a preview on the students to be imported when you import student data via CSV file or via Sokrates integration.

Go to ‘Master data|Students|Import’ and select as always the file, the character set and the call date for class assignment and click on ‘Next’.

The view of the field assignment also stayed the same, however, the ‘Import’ button was replaced by the ‘Preview’ button.

The preview shows slightly different information depending on whether new students or changes to student data will be imported (both possible in one import).

Import of new students:

If more than 50% of the total number of students (existing students + new students) will be created by the import, a red warning is shown and after clicking the Import button you will be asked, if it is correct that so many students are created (you are warned that there perhaps is a mistake regarding the import which instead of changing student data created new students (e.g. different short name due to wrong character format if the students are assigned by their short names)):

Change of existing student data:

If you import changes to student data, all changes are shown in the preview. If the class assignment is changed, the date is also shown on which the class assignment will be changed. If you imported the data with the wrong character format, you will see it in the overview.

If you import student data from Sokrates you can make several changes of class assignments at the same time, and all changes are then displayed with the respective date of the change in the respective column.
